Day 7 - No Regrets
Regrets, like guilt, serve no useful purpose and are energy-sapping. Again, you cannot change the past. What is done is done. Wishing you had done something differently, or not at all is a vain wish.
A regret is like a cancerous growth – it keeps gnawing at you and grows bigger and looms forever on our horizon pointing a finger at us and saying, “You shouldn't have”. That’s all very well, but unfortunately we did.
Rather than having regret, let us rather accept fully and take total responsibility for any actions that we are unhappy about.
No matter how long ago, or how big the regretful action, at any time in our lives we can say: “Enough, no more. I am getting nothing good out of this regret. I am letting go of it, learning from it and striving to do and be better. I am making up for whatever I did by just trying to do and be better”.
